The Blue Plantation Band

The Blue Plantation Band is an acoustic string band with a diverse variety of authentic musical styles including Bluegrass, Country, Folk, Rock, 80s and more!

 

The Blue Plantation Band has created their own niche market and specialize in wedding ceremonies, rehearsal dinners, oyster roasts, corporate events, festivals, private parties, and local music venues. The band is made up of four musicians with a wide background of musical experience and a high level of expertise. 

 

The Blue Plantation Band has been performing for over twenty years in the South Carolina area and have created a unique sound that is sure to please.  With their large repertoire of music and experience, they are the perfect choice for your next event and will provide a memorable experience for all.

Aaron Gdovicak

Aaron has been playing music for 35 years. He started playing trombone in middle school and guitar in junior high school. Later on he picked up the mandolin and banjo to add a new dimension to his playing. Aaron has been playing with the Blue Plantation Band for over 20 years and various other groups as a sideman. He also teaches guitar on his YouTube channel and Patreon Page.

Allan Thompson

Allan is from a little town in North Carolina called Windsor. Inspired by his older sister Sharon to make music his life ambition, Allan began learning the harmonica and banjo at the age of 15. You can hear Sharon sing “Honky Tonk Girl” here. Sharon moved to Nashville, Tennessee at the age of 18. 

 

Allan is a veteran of the U.S. Navy and after being discharged in 1977 he moved to Nashville to pursue a musical career and reside close to his brave sister. Allan lived in the middle Tennessee area for 20 years and made a living traveling in road bands and teaching music. In 2000 Allan moved to Mount Pleasant, S.C. to visit friends and liked the Charleston area so much decided to stay a while. Allan quickly signed up a number of students at a local music store. At this same store Allan would meet guitar teacher Aaron Gdovicak. They formed the Blue Plantation Band and have been at it ever since. Allan’s hobbies are boating, gardening, and raising dogs. He currently lives on Johns Island with his wife Debi and beloved dogs Buddy and Rudy.

Jeff Narkiewicz

Jeff has been playing for music 37 years, starting on trumpet and then guitar. He picked up the electric bass in college and eventually gravitated toward the upright. He currently plays with Blue Plantation and various other groups.

David Grant

David Grant has been a lead/harmony vocalist and guitar front man for 30 years. His voice packs the power of Bill Monroe and the soul of Eric Clapton on the slower songs. He has been performing musician in Clemson, Greenville, Charlotte and Charleston.
